More than voice-to-text
A voice-to-text app stops when speech becomes a transcript. A voice workflow also knows the route, the relevant context, the intended destination, and what should remain available afterward.
Dictation and Command stay separate
| Mode | You say | Alder does | Result |
|---|---|---|---|
| Dictation | The text you want to write | Recognizes, cleans up, applies relevant vocabulary and context | Finished text at the verified cursor |
| Command | An instruction or question | Works with the context you mounted | A visible answer, transformation, summary, or plan |
See exactly what Command mode does, or keep the direct writing route with Dictation.
Your current work can ride with the recording
Attach only what the take needs: selected text, a screenshot, a file, a web page, a recent result, or something you saved in Library. Alder preserves the explicit source set instead of silently guessing from everything on your Mac.
What a voice workflow can accomplish
- Draft an email from several pages and screenshots you gathered.
- Ask for the central argument in a PDF without leaving the document.
- Speak a reply in one language and produce the intended output language.
- Carry selected excerpts into a note while keeping their source context.
- Save useful material and reuse it later from a private Library.
Built around the Mac you already own
Alder is designed for Apple silicon and a local product boundary. Dictation audio is not uploaded for processing, and mounted context, History, and Library are part of the private Mac workflow rather than a general cloud memory.
